Soundqubed vs sundown

So I wanna put 2 18's in my room, but I can't decide between soundqubed hdc4 or sundown x-18. I know soundqubed isn't really meant for sealed enclosures, so I can't do a 4th order with it. But with the sundown's I can, but I know the x seriously are already made or the lows. So now I'm deciding to do just a ported box for both, but my question is money isn't a problem or amp or anything else but which sub would perform better and last better, each sub would be getting 2k rms each so a total of 4k rms for one pair of subs. I know the sundowns can easily handle 2k to 2.5k for one sub. But the soundqubed can only handle 2k max.

lol at the hdc4 only handling 2k max...... the hdc4 can handle WAY more then 2k rms.... id go with the HDC4 myself they are way underrated. but the x's are good as well.
@mlstrass; on here runs 2 3500.1s strapped to 1 hdc4 18" daily

the hdc3 line of subs(the line before the hdc4) was only rated for 1k, but ive seen them take up to 3k daily and 6k or more on burps. i have the hdc3 18 and im going to run around 3600 or so to it when im done with my build.

How do you plan on getting 4k RMS through those subs in your house?

When it comes to home audio you don't need anywhere near as much power as you would in a car, I have 2 cheapo junk 15" ebay woofers on 75W RMS in an ancient box and it pisses off my neighbors. Anything over 500W to either of those subs is gonna get the police called.

Would junk them both and buy 2 15" Audiopulse Revos for HT. Neither want anything to do with the revos down low. I also don't know if I see either of those listed subs as in home use subs.

500 watts is poop to me, I'm a bass addict, I need more than that. I am currently usually a Logitech z623 and it *****. I need something to get low and get loud, that's where sundown and soundqubed come into play. And neighbors and police can **** off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm thinking about running a behringer inuke nu12000 or a peavey ipr2 7500 to get around 4k-12k now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So would 4k be great for hdc4's than?

They aren't usually use for ht but you can use them as ht but you have to use a crossover, but I'm not usually them as ht, more for music in my room. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There's a good reason that NOBODY uses drivers like that in HT. If you have money to burn why not get a pair of 18" LMS 5400's invest in a very good cabinet and be good with 3-4KW for the pair.

Eh, I'm was looking at the dayton subs and than I thought eh, and the lms are nice but I'm more stuck in the sq and sd for sure just can't decide to either go with. Maybe I will do the soundqubed for my room. And do 12k on them, 6k for each sub

So should I do a sundown x in a 12 c^3 box tuned to 25-30, I want real good lows but I want a changeable port so I can still listen to death metal, I wanna feel the 808 booms xD
no way thats crazy. you wanna run 4k watts and 12 cubes? it will destroy itself rather quickly.
