Sound not to my liking??

sub up port back i guess?

I would do both back in your case. Would help the performance a bit.

could just be a dynamic issue..Orion has never played around with the HCCA line.
That is possible, but the amp from Orion was the "replacement" for the HCCA line at that time. Talking about the chrome 2500D.

Hmm, really? Cause I have sub up slot port back right now.
While that can typically be the "loudest" it is only if the design loads/works properly in the application. With single sub setups that are smaller sub up and port back are not always the best solution for daily setups.

In most cases it may have been a step up, but those Orion's are no joke at all. I have two in the back room along with the 8004 and have yet to pull the trigger on selling them do to how well they actually perform.

I am going to stay positive and think that it is the enclosure, or maybe my electrical. I am not going to say its the amp yet, just for the sake of my marriage when I tell her that I want to get rid of this one to get another lol

Well, the best course of action would be...

We can work on the enclosure and attempt to make everything work the best it can with what you have. Then you can upgrade electrical as you go...if you still don't have the performance you want, then I would say buy a second amp and strap them with the upgrading electrical. If you are careful with how you set everything, that sub will come to life quickly.

Sounds great, I will make sure to ask input for now on. Lol

I figured that since I was told that I needed to beef up my electrical just from this sub alone to get the full potential.
Unless you have heavy voltage drop you will not see a huge increase from your current setup. It will perform better for longer if you do the proper upgrades, but it won't be like turning a switch to instant louder.

Well after tweaking the amp some it seems to be as loud, just don't seem to have the same pressure on the bass. I was wondering when setting gains with a dmm, do I do wattage from the lowest wattage, meaning the amp is 1650wrms @ 2 an the sub is 1500wrms, that is underrated so what wattage do I use to find out the gain setting?? And as of now I have NO headlight dimming, and from what I think I know, headlight dimming doesn't mean clipping all the time, it just means that your pushing wattage?? That is why i originally wanted to change amps is better efficiency out of my current electrical.
