Need advise concerning upgrading my existing sound system

I have got Vitz (Japanese Model). I want to upgrade its existing sound system. As I don't like a lot of rattling bass, so currently I won't be installing an additional subwoofer, though I still want to have an amplifier powerful enough so that I am able to add one when I want. Basically, I prefer 'crisp' and 'clear' sound at low volumes like Bose has. I am looking forward to install a pair of 6-1/2" component speakers in two front doors, whereas a pair of 6*9 coaxial speakers on the shelf in the trunk.

Here are a few of the component speakers I've seen:

1- Polk Audio MM6501

2- Infinity 6030CS

Here are a few of the 6*9 speakers I've seen:

1- Polk Audio MM691

2- Infinity 9633i

Here are a few of the 4 channel amplifiers I've seen:

1- Pioneer GM-6500F

2- Kenwood KAC-2404S

3- Clarion XR2410

Which of these speakers and amplifier (or any other) would you recommend? And should I be using component speakers in the front doors, or rather coaxial speakers?

Note: I will purchase a compatible head unit separately.

Budget: $300-$400 (for speakers and amplifier)

either set of speakers is ok at best the amps ,no good.with your budget your not going to achieve your goal here. you need to add more cash to do that .also the pioneer 80 prs is a great deck that will give you want you want and need for the system your trying to build here

^this...look to sound deadening the interior shell of the doors directly behind the speakers and the underside of the rear deck at a minimum. The HU myows mentioned is one of the best and will power the speakers you mentioned. This will be a solid foundation for any future upgrades you might desire.

I'm planning to hook up a separate shelf in the trunk on which I'll mount the amplifier on its lower side, while I'll mount the two speakers right and left on the upper side of the same shelf. Or I can let alone amplifier lie in the trunk.

Moreover, does pioneer 80 prs eliminate the need for an amplifier?

the deck does not if you want the system to be really loud.the 80 has one of the best xoxers on the market for a deck and its active capable.as far as speakers i'd go with components cdt ,morel, maybe even some id's just really depends on your budget and what you are trying to achieve out of the system
