Sound not to my liking??

I don't know if it is my box or that I switched amps from my orion 2500d to Crescendo 3kwp, but I am running a DD9512 D4, so I am getting 1500wrms round bout', but I still think that it could / should be louder. I am stock on everything, but I don't know that my stock is what is limiting the speakers as much as I don't know where the clipping begins, I have set the gains with DMM and tuned it to where I feel comfortable. Like I said, I know it could hit lower, and probably go higher but I have a huge fear of over exerting the sub since I don't know where the point of over is. Can someone please shine a light on what is wrong? I know it is vague, I can answer whatever questions you want. Thank you.

Why did you do that?...did the Crescendo have better features than the Orion? was the Orion the HCCA?

Well I am not sure if it had better features other than it puts out like 3.2k @ 1, and the orion didn't. I am looking into getting another 9512 in the future so this leaves me room for an upgrade, secondly I don't know if it was the HCCA.

I personally think the 2500 is/was a better amplifier.

With that said, what are you enclosure specs?

A hair over 2.5 cubes (like 2.54) at 33 hz. Box is 41w x 10.125h x 18.75d, give or take a little because I can't cut straight for nothing.

Oh, and I was hoping that efficiency in the 3k would be better, that was what I was going for, but I am not too sure that is the case, I just think it is tuned wrong. Can't figure it out though.

What is the port area and length?

What do you feel is lacking other then being "louder" is it low end not pronounced enough or the upper end of the bass not as direct?

Well, not sure aobut the length, Buck designed it, but the width is 4 5/8" and the lows seem like they could be lower, I just am scared of screwing up my speaker.

If the overall sound is not to your liking then a new enclosure will be required. If you want to give it more power then buy an amp that will give you power at 2 ohm or strap 2 amps at 2 ohm.

The other option, which I less then likely, is you are at the limits of the sub for what you want from it. This is really not likely though.

Well the wrms on the DD is 1500, the Crescendo @ 2 puts out 1650, so I don't think it is the amp. Tell you waht, if you want pm me a estimated price on building a box and shipping and maybe I can do something.

I will get you a quote, but that 9512 can take a decent amount of power daily and that crescendo is less then likely to produce that at 2 ohm.
