Sooooooo... Build sound good?

So I am currently debating. What is going to be louder?? 2 Obsidian Audio 12"ers or 1 Obsidian Audio 15" sub? I'm going to be running the sub(s) on a soundstream LW1.1700D amp at 1 ohm. I need to know what would be a great box for the sub(s)? For the 12"s I was thinking about 3-4 cubes tuned to 30 hz, and for the 15 I was thinking 3-4 cubes at 32-35 hz with a 4" aeroport. Any thoughts on what would be louder? It's going into the trunk of a 2003 mustang. Help please! Thanks

2 12s would be substantially louder. Idk the specs on them, but I'm guess 2.25 cubes each after displacement should be nice. And I would tune them around 33. U would want to tune the 15 lower, in most cases. And I would run 2 4inch aeros, at least. 1 4 would be too little port area.

From what I have heard you can. I thought the same thing but apperantly you can if you pop the back seat out and slide the box in that way...

I was thinking two twelves would be to. But Idk. I wasnt sure. Do you think plexi glass would hold up on the back of the box? lol I was gonna make about a 1.5'x11" plexi cut out to place on the back of the box and put some strobing LEDs in the box with the subs.

Thats what I was thinking to but idk. I just want a loud street setup. I like the fact that jacob makes the Obsidian 12"s now. Thats why I wanna test them out lol

2 12's obviously have more cone area, and the power is gonna be the same, gotta get dual 4's for 2 12's. or a dual 2 for 1 15, whichever way you go

What is your theory on the 15 getting lower? I'm sure you have to know in many cases that is simply just not true. In the few cases it is true the level of difference would not even be audible by ear.

ok dude cone area + excursion + power = Db's, in theory roughly. same series of subwoofers with equal power, equally performing boxes and installs, thean the setup with the most cone area is louder. end of story

Before you get to far into your "wish list". You should pop the trunk and see what you have to work with. Make sure the space needed is available and also make sure what ever you want will actually fit in the trunk opening. Not doing those two steps will only cause you to be upset when you buy something and it will not fit as you thought it would.

Whats the proper air space for an AO 15? I basically have these measurements to work with:

Depth: "24"

Width: "39"

Height: "13.5"

they like 3.5-4 cubes for the 15. What you have there is roughly 7 cubes gross. You should have plenty of room to build one. Depending on how low you tune and what kind of port you use it should only take up like 1 - 1.5 cubes for the port

Well thats basically the max size box I can have. The trunk opening is alot smaller
