Soo how many watts can a BL truely take?

I'm not going to say what it will take or what it won't. We rate them at 1000 watts rms. If you find they can take more power, then great. If you break it, then a recone is a easy fix.

1000 watts is what we say and that's what i'm sticking to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

get a funky pup instead
GTFO with that.

Honestly, I am not sure, I had 2 1750.1s strapped at 1 ohm on it and it just didn't have the output I was expecting on it, fully loaded daily. The bass was loud but it felt empty, hard to explain. I have gotten more into clarity over loudness recently though so.. could have just been I was tired of the old BOOM sound I have always heard. just my 2 cents.
Hmm, could have been any number of things i suppose, who knows.

You guys gotta understand all the FI subs have so many different option, they can almost all take as little as 7-800 watts and sound good, or up to 3K and sound good...and as denim said, up to 5-10K for comps... all depends what options you have.. I am really researching them a lot because I want to try a pair of the Q's, but there are just so many options. I have 3000 watts, and want to run 2 15" Q's... some tell me thats to much, even with the fully loaded options... so I dunno what I wanna do, or should do.. I also want to try the Q's ported AND sealed, because I have yet to hear a LOUD SQL install...and I think that is what I will like most

edit: and the fact that the 10, 12, and 15 have the same recommended power kinda confuses me, because the motors have to be different sizes arent they?

A lot of people match a fully loaded BL with a Sundown 1500d and are completely happy.

The Sundown will put out around 1600 to 1700w with a good electrial system at 1ohm.

Just to give you a idea what you might want to shoot to it powerwise.

I would keep it under 2k though.

Keep it under 2k definately, I read somewhere they really start to shine with ~1500wrms going to one.

Just be easy on it at first and see what it can handle, experience is ideal but most people can tell when a driver is being stressed if you pay attention.....

True, this one has full cooling so i thought it could take quite a bit more.

ya ill probably start it out at 12-1500 and work my way up.

LMAO who said 1300-1500 its really like 1800-2400 if u know how to bump my Q loves 1300-1500 and has a lot softer suspension then the bl...it's just FI can't post that on a forum cause idiots will start blowin them and be like but they said on ca that it'll take more then the rating...
