my mono amp manual says: you can use the radio/cd designated mono line output or a full range stereo line output. for full range stereo line output you will need an optional y adapter..........is this why im not getting sound because i need this y adapter the amp powers on

I think that's saying if your radio has rca or sub outs you can use those

Are you trying to run that off a stock HU?
