Someone please help! (pics)

Ya the quarts grounded the same way a car audio shop did it. But i ment unhook the quart amp then hook up the kicker to its 4 gauge wires. Just to see if it was my 8 gauge wiring that caused it.

*and that shop shouldn't be doing installs if they put the ground ring terminal on top of that piece of metal. You have an excuse. They should know better.

I only read half this thread but hear is what I think you need to do:

Find a nice solid mounting location for that ground. If you have a Digital Multi Meter put it in (OHM) mode, which means resistance. Put the positive terminal on your power wire and the negative on your ground location. If you get a very low reading your connection is fine. If not test spots on the floor until you find a good location.

If you do choose to run a wire back to the battery you need 4 gauge wire. You are traveling pretty far in that case so make up for the wire resistance by using a larger wire. And for the love of god, please please please put a fuse on it, close to the battery, so you dont burn your car down..

Why not just remove the piece of metal, sand down what's underneath, and put your ground terminal there?
Oh i thought you said grounding to the battery is what i should do? I would much much rather sand it down and keep the ground there tho... If i can even remove that piece of metal.

But i still dont think its a bad ground imo.. I mean what are the chances that this ground is bad AND the ground best buy made was bad

That ground is bad. No doubt about it. Even if there is another problem , it doesn't matter, that is an awful ground.

Ya im gona ground to battery. That way i KNOW for a FACT that its a good ground and if the noise continues i can completely rule that out. Should i do the same for my subs amp while im at it or what?

**** phone posting multiple times

He doesn't need to fuse a negative run, man....
Haha, thats true, I was bouncing between threads on my lunch break and confused something with something else. Yeah, if your ground wire touches anything it will just ground. Lol.

You say the noise stopped when you unplugged the RCA's?

If it did, the amp is should not be the problem....

I would pull the rca cable that is running to that amp and check it for any shorts/cuts ect...

110% re do that ground!! In all honesty, the ground connections are one of, if not the most important connections.

...you do not have your power and rca's running with each other do you?

Yah it stopped right when i unplugged RCA's. but sadly yes i have both speaker wire and r as running eith power wire. In gona change that, along with ground and see what hapens. I will record a vid so you guys can see exactly what noise its making.

Check the RCA's for any cuts or if they may be grounding out somewhere...

That is going to be my guess
