someone please help me figure out how this works!

so i got 2 jl10w7 with 2 audiobahn a1200dt1 amps for a steal! my questions is since jl made this speaker a 3ohm speakerand my amp is 1200 watts at 1 ohm what wattage should i rum my amp at. i mean if its 1200 at 1 then its really only like 400 at 3 ohm. so now i have my amp turned up tp 650watts but does that mean it really isnt getting 650 only around 200? it sounds to confusing to me.....any suggestions on what wattage i should put my amp on? can i turn it all the way up even though the speaker is rms at about 750watts? please help!

what do you mean what wattage you should put your amp on?

look at your amplifiers ratings for 2 and 4 ohms. Your w7 will be seeing an amount somewhere between those two numbers.

Are they dual 3 ohm. Or single 3 ohm.

its a single 3 ohm sub and i meant i have the gain turned half way up on a 1200 watt 1ohm amp so if i turn the gain all the way up ill really be pushing around 450 watts to the speaker and it wont hurt it bc its a 750rms speaker?is that how it works

Yeah I would. With the two wired down you should get plenty from the JL amp. And from what I understand about those amps they put out the same power at all ohm loads. Dont hold me to that though.

yeah its the same from 1.5v ohm thru 4 ohm i payed 650 for the 2 10's and the amp with a 1farad cap pretty sweet deal id say....just aint to happy with the amp since its 1 ohm thanks for helping out guys
