some midbass questions

also, do you know of any sites that you can put in your cars year/model and it shows what alternator it has, cuz ill have 2 amps and that crossover hooked up in a '90 integra.

ok i found that it's 80 amps max, would that be enough?
I was going to say you can call up any auto parts supplier and they should be able to tell you.

anyways...there's no telling. You're just going to have to hook it all up and try it out, see how your car handles it. To many variables at work.

also on the profile crossover for the inputs and outputs it looks like you need to plug in rca's, but how do you go from speaker wire to rca's? do i have to buy rca ends and strip the speaker wire and connect them or what?

The crossover will go between your headunit and the amplifier.

The speakers will be connected directly to the amplifier.

So you'll have the RCA outputs from the headunit going into the xover, then the RCA outputs from the xover going into the inputs on the amplifier. Then the speakers connected directly to the outputs of the amplifier.

Each midbass will need to be on it's own dedicated channel (i.e. one midbass to channel 1, one midbass to channel 2). Then I don't know what the rest of your system consists of....but if you're going to be using a "regular" component set with a passive xover then you would place each side on their own independent channel (mid, tweet and passive for L side on one channel; mid, passive and tweet for R side on another channel).

So in total you'd need 4 channels of amplification.

ok i have 4 channels of amplification but on the large pic of the crossover there are 3 sets of rca inputs/outputs, and above them it says sub/front/rear

and also for the components with the passive xover, could i still use the xover but also use the profile xover and high pass the speakers around 1000hz or where ever i decide the low pass my mids?

You only need to use one set of inputs. That's what the "parallel input" feature (listed on the features list) is used for.

As to the outputs...you'll have the "front" (highpass) output going to the amplifier input for your PB component set, the "rear" (bandpass) output going to the input on the amplifier for the midbass, and the "sub" (lowpass) going to the subwoofer amp.

Yes, you can use the Profile xover to highpass those components. Just play around with the xover frequencies and see what sounds best.
