ok first off, would these speakers be ok for dedicated midbass?

and second, does it matter where you install them to get good imaging? or are they like subs in which you cant really tell which direction the sound is coming from.

Yes you can sense where midbass is coming from. That why why the sub is the only thing in the trunk.

that would prolly be your best bet, that and getting some actualy mids.

Yes and Yes.

For midbass aiming isn't really that important...but pathlengths are.

has anyone used the cdt cl-6? for 90 bucks a pair i thought that was pretty good and i already have and amp that could power them.

Only get the 4ohm, unshielded version (not on the website yet, but the part number is 295-374...have to call to order)

I'd take those over either of the CDT any day of the week. Great speakers. And not just "great for the price"....but actually just flat out great speakers that happen to be very affordable.

How do you plan on crossing over these speakers?

daytons are pretty cheap and are known for the best bang for the buck speakers out there. many reviewers of the daytons believe they should be worth $100 per speaker.

yes the crossover appears to have all i need but is profile a good company to go with? i heard they have great budget stuff but have you had any experience with them?
