I would never own either, but I sure as hell would never own the jackhammer.

The Solo X is crazy even the 10" version can get loud as hell.

definitly the JackHammer, it out peforms soloX in just about everything, even wieghs 3 times as much as solox, but it prolly costs 3 times as more. 2.5 xmax, over 300 pounds, this thing is nuts....
Cause more weight = better... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

I just don't see what application calls for such a driver, at that cost and weight. PA speaker drivers in stadiums don't weigh that much. Perhaps the speaker box, horns, etc combined maybe...

I wonder, how much does a soloX weigh? I'll bet, lb for lb, you get at least 3 soloX 18"s for that one MTX Jockhammer. There is no way in hell some hyped up tourist trap like that thing going to compare with 3 SoloX's.

I definately agree, for the money you would pay for this "supersub" then you could buy atleast 3 solo X's.....which would kill you..

Correct...~105 is decently close..

But weight means nothing, I could make a speaker using a different type of magnet that weighed a total of around 17lbs...and looked pewny as hell - But had enough motor force to sling the coil straight out of the gap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Edit: Also - It would cost just about the same as the regular strontium motor assembly...but because "bigger" is always better - Neo isn't the industry standard...i really wish it was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Neo is verah koo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

the Solo X weighs in at around 140 lbs...but weight of a sub means nadda really...as long as the motor is enough to make the sub perform to it's best ability, the more magnets can seem like overkill and a WOW factor.

From the vehicles Nick and have seen at dbDrag,etc...nobody has room for a Jackhammer....most are small cars with space constraints now.....

if a woofer is louder just ebcause it's heavier, I can sell a solo X 18, and stand on it, and as a package deal it will now weigh 380 lbs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Exactly Tracy - About all that would fit in our particular vehicle is right around 19-20" but even at that we dont have the room that the retardedly big motor takes up it's just TOO big...(gotta have play room)...(if there were such a thing as a speaker like that)...in order to get the response that i was looking for things had to get small:) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...

seems like most neo magnet equipped drivers are leaning towards the SQ side of things more than all out burp machines. (Aura, Focal, tweets and the likes). I heard there's a new SPL sub from beyond audio (or was that another brand?) that uses neo magnets, but that's the only one I heard so far, and can they really be considered mass produced?

Any specific reason why, except price?

the neo-motored SPL sub is made by Shocker
