I am slowly working on putting together a system, based on quality. I just purchased the F1 setup from alpine, now, I have the front stage pretty well planned out. The sub stage is up in the air, there are so many options. One name that has been thrown my way is the Critical mass ul 12. I have been looking at some digital designs, image dynamics. As you can see the options are endless. I would like to stay with either a 10 or a 12, possibly a pair of 10s. I plan on running right around 1000 watts rms. From experience, what do users find to be a very sound quality oriented subwoofer?

Well man i'll be the first to ask ya cause everyone else on here will. first off whats your budget? what are you going for SPL or SQL if you dont know the diffrence SQL is more for sound enchancing and SPL is just looking for bass , also whats it going in?

Seems like he wants more SQL than SPL. I wouldn't go with DD, because SQ-wise there are other subs out that there that will sound better and still get loud. ID Max's are a great choice, I enjoy my RL-p, I'm waiting to hear a Brahma (heard they are great sq drivers that can get loud but sound different than most subs, so I'd like to hear how that difference is). If you can somehow find an Audiomobile MASS sub, it's got great SQ, but doesn't get as loud as you may like, but it may, depending on your tastes of being loud. I would also look into TC Sounds. Check with photocrazy8, he has several 12's for sale at VERY reasonable prices. He has a for sale thread up as well.

when this amp is bridged with this sub @2 ohm 14.4v it will give you 900w rms

this sub is pretty cool, ecause you can replace the cone, basket, and vice coil. Which i'v only seen the cone and voce coil for sale. And you can chage the impendance just by swapping with a 4 ohm vice coil.

id use there sealed 1 cubic foot enclosure found in the owners manual, it tells you how to build the box

Depending on ur budget,SI Mags,SS RLPs,Diamond TDXs,ID Maxs,and if u got the big bucks The DD 9100.

You might consider an SSA Icon, or the DIYMA 12. If you have the cash and want straight SQ, maybe an Aura MR12. Also look into the Polk SR series, I've heard great things about those. Really a lot of stuff out there. Do a search here in the subwoofers section. There are hundreds of "SQ Sub" threads to comb through.

PS: I'm assuming you're leaning more towards SQ, seeing as you spent the cash on the F#1 Status stuff

you got it. I want SQ, but figured, Ill have the wattage, we'll throw the SQL out there. I dont want you to hear me for blocks, but I would like to be able to feel some bass. That oval shaped sub is sweet looking...

Edit: What are the thoughts on Massive audio. I dont need the competition grade, just the CW, it looks to be dependable...

I'm pretty sure the Massives are more SPL oriented. At least i know Snoopdan played around with them for a while, and he doesn't appearto be much of an SQ guy.
