Hello All,

I have finally gotten around to really utilizing the search button on subwoofers,amps, and electrical...

I have not really found what i wanted using the search button for speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

I am a bit newb to this stuff (check the join date), as car audio has recently just become a new hobby of mine and is very interesting to read and try to learn...

on to the questions..

I am looking heavily into some component speakers (planning on just deleting rear fill completely), and I really want them to sound nice.

I talked to my friend about Rainbow, and I asked him how they sounded. He chuckled and said I heard an h2 hummer with 3 sets of rainbow germaniums..and it sounded like music was coming from inside your head. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I don't know if hes exaggerating, but that made me really want these comps.

How much do these run? Where can I purchase a set? I have around $400 to spend on comps alone...give or take $50...

I plan on strictly sticking to rainbow for the comps btw...

onto the multichannel amp...

150x2 = 2 channels...

150x4 = 4 channels..

does 4 channel mean that 1 channel goes to the tweets, and another channel go to the woofer? and since i have 2 tweets and 2 woofers, that means I would go with a 4 channel amplifier?

I really think my theory is wrong..because people here are running 2 channel amps...

would someone care to elaborate for me? Thanks in advance!

sorry for the long and confusing post. I won't hold it against your credibility if you don't understand my questions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if it had 3 sets, i doubt it was that good. there are a few people here you can contact for rainbow stuff, 6spdcoupe, 3.5max6spd, premier audio. components come with crossovers that filter the woofer and the tweet, each crossover needing its own channel of amplification, so with that you can have a 150x2. if you were wanting run each woofer and tweeter with its own channel, you would need a HU capable of 3-way crossover or an external 3-way crossover. i think the germs would be in your budget and they will be awesome, i'm feeding mine ~220w per side.

oh, im drunk.

If you are set on Rainbows I'd talk to Don (6spdcoupe) or 3.5max to see what they think about the different levels Rainbow has to offer. As far as your "theory" on amps, well I'm sorry to say I'm about to disprove the theory(well sort of, if you were going active but we aren't talking about active you are asking about passive)

You see, with components you are able to run both the tweeter and mid, both left and right, with just a 2 channel amplifier. Now the only reason you would need a 4 channel amp was if you wanted to run either two component sets, a front comp set and a rear set, or you are going Active.

I wouldn't worry to much about Active or Passive right now. If you are just now getting into the hobby, stick to buying components and entry level head units. I'm not saying go out and buy junk(of course you are looking at rainbows so obviously you are doing some research) but I wouldn't focus so much upon that unless you plan on upgrading in the near future. If you must know what the two are however, there are wonderful write ups on the subject.

Also I would worry about your front stage before worrying about the sub-stage. If I could do it over again, I'd pick a better front stage, dampen it, tend to it, and have proper amplification before worrying about my sub-stage.

alright guys, much appreciated for answering my questions. I will be in contact with them for some Germanium's soon, and will be buying a 2 channel amp shortly.

btw 2kchevy

I already have some entry level alpine HU and some Niche coaxials (pos btw). Also running a dub audiobahn 12" and an audiobahn amp that I got for my birthday 2 years back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif :*******:

just looking to upgrade...and I figured if i'm gonna upgrade. im **** sure gonna make it well worth the time and money.

Thanks again.
