1. you can, can't hurt and isn't much of an issue, get one for 2kHz if you do, a full octave below the amp crossover point.
2. you don't need to run it at max volume for crossover/level setting. just use a normal speaking volume.
3. depends if you are unhappy once you get it setup. tweeters lower in doors is usually a downgrade.
