ok. this current build is for SkinnySloth, a fellow ca.com member.

it will be 2 cubes @ 29hz tunning for his 12" rl-p. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

If you're in SoCal then you know it's getting freakin hot, so I didnt' get to far w/ the build yet.

So far I've....

gotten all the pieces cut to size....

rounded the ports: w/ a 1/4" roundover bit (Thx to 3onDubs for the plunge router;) )

The cutout on the baffle:

doing the cutout was much easier for me on this build //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif because of this

more things i've done w/ my new toy:

and here's how the box looks at the moment sitting in my garage minus the clamps:

reason for the rabbeted edges is for the carpeting that will be done later. yes... carpet

Yup, this box is for me. I'm glad I was able to find a quality box builder locally so I don't have to deal with shipping costs.

Well, I'm upgrading, I hope it's an upgrade //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif , from 2 12" JL w4 in a sealed box powered by an old kicker zr240 to 1 12" RLP in this box powered by a RF T5002. Guess I'll find out in a week or so.

Quality builder is an understatement for this man. I always enjoy his worklogs, and he's by far one of the best box builders in teh werld!!! Congrats on the good investment, and keep it up Mr. Bang.

ever since i posted pictures of my carpeting techniques with the rabbet bit everyone has gone nuts using it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i like it, hahahaha.

thanks for the too-kind words.

The rabbeted edges makes carpet really simple. Teh only part you really have to worry about is the seem... which is the bottom anyways. Once the box is upright, you have a perfect lookign box.

as for purchasing a router.. you can find one at almost any harware/tool store. and it's very simple to make your own jasper jig. It works like a charm.

it was a slow day today. Didn't get much done today. I usually like to relax on Sundays but i got all the pieces on but the top.

well, here's a little thing i do to make sure the port width stays consistent.

The width of this port is 2.5" long, so all I do is cut out a piece of wood that's 2.5" wide and stick it between the ports.
