you could kind of hear the rubber "slaps" as i call them, and it smelt funky haha

Move the box closer to the trunk. Could just be the car too. Ford SUVs get loud pretty easily. It could also be you are getting major rise.

Your box is really far back, subs are most in the middle of the car.

With a vertical port like that id try firing it off the side of the car.

Yes Play with the box position, more importantly, the port position. The port is where all the sound is comming from, It needs to load off something solid.

Here are some ways you can flip stuff around.

It's the type r's also I used to run them they sound great at mid volume but lose it when you turn them up. Get 4 sa8v2's give them 1500 watts total and you will be pleased.

Subs up port to the back should be the loudest. You could try down firing the subs but I don't think that's gonna help either.

rise???

Impedance rise. Different factors affect the impedance that your amp actually sees from your subs.

You could wire your subs to 1 ohm, and they will act like an 8 ohm load on music. Or you could wire to 1 ohm and it only rises to 2 ohms. Lots of different things happen, but it will always go up. Never down.

sorry for the slow responsse i was camping, ill try moving the port close to the hatch and throw the amps behind it and see, also heres a vid of our cars playing the same song

Also u can prly get away with more gain too. Most people have theirs set between 11 and 3 o'clock depends on your RCA voltage
In the pic your is at like 9 o'clock

are you seriously advising someone to raise their gain based on a picture?
