ok im planning on getting 2 12" 1200 watt kenwood subs and im needing some amps

now i know its EXPENSIVE to get 2 amps that are even 1000 watts

my question is if i were to get say 2 low watt amps and have them bridge together would it take away from anything or would it still sound good...

i know the things im wanting, im planning on getting the 2 12" kenwoods, 4 150 watt kenwood mids (2 for the front 2 for the back), and 2 180 watt polk tweeters...

so what size amp or amps do i need to run all of this

I would look into a set of componets for the front to simplify the system, instead of using one style of mids and other style of tweeters. I would suggest a four channel amp for the full range speakers anywhere from 100x4 RMS to 50X4 RMS. I would then look into a single amp to run the subs. Preferably a class D amp as it will require less power than a class A/B amp to make the same power. I have personally been looking into the kenwood 1903d amp. It says it makes 900 watts RMS at 2 ohms and it is 1 ohm stable. It dose not say, however, what the power output is at 1 ohm. I have found it for sale as low as $150 on the internet.

Good luck, Lee

Good advice and he's right. If you're adding in a substage, there's really no need to go with the rear fill anyways. Look into a nice set of components for the front doors and feed them some clean power and you'll be more than happy. As far as amps go a 2 channel should work fine if you decide to only run 1 set of components... Something like 100x2 should be plenty. If you're set the kenwood subs then youre only going to need an amp that puts out around 600 rms for both of those subs. 1200 is the max power they recommend for them. I used to run similar subs, but they were the excelon series and would get hot when I put more than 500 to each. All of this information of course is install/budget dependant so if you'd give us some more information such as car/budget/goals we can point you in the right direction.

ok all the information i believe you would need is its a 1993 honda civc ex coupe...

the subs that i was wanting that i found NEW on ebay were the kenwood KFC-W3011 and i was hoping for 2 just for the extra bump

the mids which i was saying were the Kenwood KFC-1361S 5 1/4" 3-way speakers

i was planning on getting bass blockers to stop any distortion

the tweeters i was looking at are the Polk db1000

im also getting this stereo http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=6537421

after the stereo im looking to try and spend under like $400 if possible if i go like $100 over thats fine

let me know if you need any other info

by the way all suggestions are more then welcome that includes different subs, speakers, setup and everything... im not a pro at systems
