I voted no, because I dont feel that you should be required to help.

If it happened, I might help, maybe just kick the kid in the head so the cop can get back on his feet and take back control. But I would not stick around after helping, I would get out of there as fast as possible.

On a somewhat related note the article takes place in Wood River, Illinois.

We also have a Wood River here in Idaho... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

1 more thing.. what if you helped a cop catch a serious killer or crazy felon... You could have this guy coming after you, gangs of people after you.. and who knows what else...
have you ever noticed when a citizen stops a big crime (****, murder, theft) they ALWAYS interview them on the news.

"we are here with mr. jack ramsey at his home at 5534 n. routeg st. he recently stopped the largest drug trade involving the most unforgiving and dangerous men in the world."

I guess I will be the voice of reason on this page; I have a great deal of respect for the police, firemen, and teachers in general. They are overworked and underpaid for the job duties. Granted there are bad apples in every profession and the police have their share of corrupt, power horing pigs but in general they do us all a public service. It's time some of you grow up and show a little respect, especially you little pricks who would cheer the person fighting against the cop. We'll see one day when your daughter gets ***** or your wife gets robbed how much you'll want the police to come and help you then.

To all the people that said people would come after you and such, thats exactly why I would get out of there as soon as I helped. Wouldnt want to get asked a bunch of questions and stuff. Dont need to be a "hero".

I still dont think you should be required to help by law, it should be the persons choice, which was already said. Some people wouldnt be much of a help anyway.

And I would most likely help. Depending on my reaction mostly. That kid almost got the gun, could have shot the cop then shot the guy, so it would have been in his best interest to help the cop out.
