Should we lower the price of Second SKin?

AFter some fierce negotiations with suppliers and vendors we have created a raw materials deal that we have never been able to do before. we have increased the heat tollerance of Damplifier to 500 degrees, which mean s that it will dampen more vibrations and sound at higher temperatures than any product on the market. so if you use it on the hood, or firewall it will do a better job.

Still no asphalt, no odor, and non toxic. (the only internet brand able to say that)

the result, is lower prices on second skin damplifier.

Damp pro will stay about the same, but Damplifier, our 62 mil product with 3 mil foil will drop quite a bit. My question for you guys, is how much would be an acceptable amount to pay?

We still need to make money on the product, but want to offer outstanding prices to our customers too.

any thoughts?

actually I think ur price are very resonable. I mean u make the product better and yet u want to lower the prices. But u where to lower them take like 10% or 15% the regular price.

IMO I bought 50 square feet of sound deadner which is the same price as your 10 square foot roll. Although it may not be the same as your product that is a huge price gap and was my deciding factor.

If I were to see 100 square feet for like 100-175 that would be great. But what kind of profit is that for you?

I just bought some of the new Raammat BXT (butyl-based) for $100 for a 62 sq. ft. roll. I know you guys used to give the 40% discount to forum members, not sure if you still do, but I think Raammat is reasonably priced for the performance. Anywhere around $1.50-2.00 per square foot in the end is about the max I'd pay.

The new rammat, the new edead, the new brown bread (b-quiet ultra) are all the same material with exception to the thickness (they all come from the same manufacturer) and are all good products, but they are still asphalt based, and as such are much cheaper to produce than all butyl an product.

In terms of performance they do quite well, especially for what each company charges, but it is hard to stay competitve with such cheap prices out there.

Second Skin shines in high heat applications and overall performance, but a lot of people are not willing to pay for that when they can double up and get similar results.

I have thought about re-introducing an asphalt product. it would be the same as The brands listed above, and would cost a lot less, but I dont feel comfortable having a product that is asphalt. maybe if I suggested its use on plastic panels only.

Not sure I want to resort back to an infirior product though...

suggestions?

well, if even if you arent comfortable with the asphault based products, apparently the buyers are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif if thats what your competitors are selling, might as well have some yourself, just to keep YOUR options open.

What are the disadvantages of an asphalt based product? Maybe bring back an asphalt based product as your bottem of the line product.

yea, and make sure you mention its just like your competitors products, BUT its your bottom of the line //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif gotta discredit them every now and then. i dunno, would that even be legal??
