not once in my post did i say your post was un called for. I am not even going to look at this thread anymore its pointless to argue something that is over in 15 days, I know for a fact that the democratic media hurt bush' approval rating drastically. Thats all.
just wasnt sure. it was hard to tell reading it.

i was just going to say i am a disabled vet

I would gladly watch Bush get put through the ringer by Congress, Obama, and what ever international court they turn Bush over to; as long as it wakes up the half of this country that refuses to stand up for it's ideals. The left loves to be heard, I think it's our turn to speak up.

He's easily the dumbest president we've ever had and did absolutely nothing for the backbone of america, the middle class. GO OBAMA!!!!
Taxcuts were nothing. Sorry our country failed harder when you guys got back in. 2006 IIRC..

Someone who understands. Im often amazed how many people buy into the president being used as the scapegoat for congress' faults. People who, apparently, know precious little of the fundamentals of how our government actually functions.
GW Bush sucked over all, imo. If for no other reason than so many people view him as a failure. When the people dont stand behind their leader, nothing they do is right. Be it a republican, or a democrat. But if the people 'like' him, there is almost nothing he can do wrong. The saddest part of it all is how shallow most people's views of their elected officials are... if they look good, speak well, etc. Who wants an 'old man and a MILF'... right?

The truth is they are all a bunch of idiots, crooks, and liars. Was Obama and McCain really the best we could muster for our next leader of the entire nation? Pathetic choices lead to pathetic leaders. Pathetic leaders lead to fail.

Sheep + people = sheeple.

I see you liked the "old man and the Milf" part. You can have it.

You are right, many if not all are crooks and liars. Believe me, I live in Illinois. We got seats for sale. It did amaze me as to how fast Obama's stock rose. I used to know a guy that would have been on Gore's cabinet. He used to raise money for democrats in Illinois. Now he's telling on people to stay out of jail. I used to have to deliver mail from that guy to Tony Rezko, and a few other names you may or may not know. It was going to be Biden as the front runner for the dems. Shit happened, and Obama came out of nowhere. Hillary was supposed to have a better shot than him.

Regardless of how you feel, it is still our political system. It's not gonna change. You may think because you read something on how it works, that you are better than most. Same way I was feeling when Bush was elected, is the same way I will feel going forward. I will believe when I see. I'm not thinking the streets will suddenly be paved with gold because Obama is in. He still has to make shit happen. Anybody can promise you anything, I'm all about what gets done.

I don't think he should be impeached. Do I agree with all of his decisions? no.

I think he did a good job with what he had to deal with. Terror attacks on 9/11 and Katrina in 2005.

I am sure we had better people for the job but how many people can afford to spend millions and millions of dollars campaigning?

People blame bush for things that he had no control over.

i think presidents need more terms other then 2. its a lame duck term. why try when you know you cant get reelected. I understand about not wanting a dictatorship but only one pres has ever held office for more then 2 terms, FDR.

Now congress on the other hand has some serious issues. we need to get rid of career politicians.

what gets me is the "sheeple" that voted for someone on "hope" and "change" that's a joke.

oh come on he was a great presidentlook at all hes done

helped the people of the middle east

helped them rebuild

given other countries money since we really dont need it

ordered hundreds of thousands of people to war to help other countries

(at the cost of some of them giving their lives because of the huge threat they were)

helped the US with 700 billion

(in which there was no need to show what it was spent on)

young george was one of the best
If you are against sending Americans to war to die for the reasons we did (oil) then i hope you voted for a Republican, because the Democrats place the lives of caribou in ANWR above the lives of American soldiers. We send Americans over seas to protect our foreign oil interests, and to die, so we dont have to drill in ANWR just in case we MIGHT kill some caribou. But then, liberals dont like to thin about it like that, do they?

Im not sure if that was directed towards me specifically or not, but I dont think Im better than anyone else here (except maybe that bmxbike guy), and Im not politically aligned with Obama, or his bullshit promises.

I find it funny how someone at the gas station told me that these lower gas prices were a result of Obama getting elected as President. Rather than get into the fact that Obama isn't in office yet or discussing the global economy with an obvious moron, I just continued to pump my gas and look at him like the idiot he was.
I'm not saying he's right, but that's how the stupid economy works. What happened when the first bailout bill didn't pass? The markets had a sharp drop and then rebounded. Absolutely nothing physical took place. Investors are kinda like timid stray cats. Anything think will scare them.

Now, looking at the reverse, if they think that Obama will better manage the oil markets, the price of oil may come down. Not saying this is the case.

i find it funny how people blame all the country's problems on george bush. nice way to get out of taking some responsibility. losers.
Not saying it's all his fault, but the man does have more than 1/3 of the world's most powerful coutry's power. He assumes some responsibility. It was his choice we invaded Iraq. Do you think the oil markets would be so messed up without Iraq being a significant player.

What president has had a country with worse scenarios? September 11? Katrina? Rita? Ivan? Gas crisis? A declining economy due to a white paper deficit? Pressure to get the Middle East under control? Nuclear war?

Has he done his best to protect our borders? Do you have food on your table? Do you have a roof over your head? He has done his job.

No offense, but you dont know how the oil market works. OPEC controls crude prices, and who the hell understands how/when/why they price it the way they do. It does vary according to our economy, but not in a linear fashion like other commodities do. It only varies with our economy based on what OPEC thinks is best for their future. Oil prices dropped before Obama was elected, I guess none of you noticed that? Oil priced dropped when the political campaigns started talking about drilling in ANWR and off-shore. They dont want to see us start producing more of our own crude, that's bad for their business. So they hike prices as high as they can, whenever they can, and when those high prices start pissing us off enough that we consider doing something about it (becoming oil independent), surprise surprise they drop crude oil prices. I could expand on the absurdity of OPEC (like how they couldnt sustain themselves without American support, but fuck us in the *** when it comes to buying oil from them), but thats another complaint for another day.

How did you gather that 1/3 figure? The president alone does not even control 1/3 of the 'power' within the US govt.
You really believe we invaded Iraq based on ONE MAN's decision? Are you too young to remember Congress sweepingly agreeing to invade? You really have no idea how our govt functions, do you? No meaning to offend, but take this as a learning experience and go read up on how these things work.

Its official now, I like you. I really like you. Thankyou for your service to our country, and the [hopefully not too serious] wound you sustained while performing that service.
I too agree that vets should be treated like Kings. If you go off and risk your life defending our nation and its interests, the LEAST our govt owes you is a solid health-care system for the rest of your life. You put your life on the line for us, we owe you a healthy life in return. Nothing but respect for you man.

Glad I'm not the only one that can see reality. Don't forget a growing global economy with new labor markets emerging in the last 8 years that under cut ours.

Agree with all of that, top to bottom

In a way it does IF opec thinks we will seriously switch fuels they will lower the price especially when demand is low...but another factor is speculative trading. The president is not as hands on with the economy as people think and does not control everything. Lefties always tried to twist Bush's joke about being a dictator into reality. Thing is congress has a major role in EVERYTHING as well and over the last 4 years the Republicans didn't have a super majority. Blame for this stuff is a lot wider than MSNBC and CNN want to place it! All you have to do is look at voting records over the last 8 years! IMO only a very small percentage of the bad seeds left after this election. You will see and now that the Dems have almost a super majority they can have NO excuses.
