should i...

I expected better from you.
sex4ears any modern day car just wont need an AC recharge. There is a leak somewhere in the AC system. You will have to have it dye tested to find the leak.
Odd, my wife's tahoe had to be recharged when we bought it from a dealer. My taurus was recently well low and needed a charge. Neither had leaks or any other issues with the system, just low coolant.

I would be very weary about the engine swap... Who did it? Proof it was done? Where did the engine come from? Is it the original ***** if so that is gonna turn into a problem. Cars only good as its weakest link. And like said above those model year cars came with junk *****.

DO A LEAK DOWN TEST

This and hope its not the evaporator. IIRC, the entire dash has to come out...That is strike 1

Strike 2 is the motor swap. Most likely a junk yard motor. Also, MOPAR auto trannys during those years were problematic.

Strike 3 is the asking price. Like was said above, $1500 at MOST due to the motor, mileage and issues with a/c and radio
I agree with everything said here.

Its been years since I lived in Florida so maybe the market has changed, but that definitely seems like too little car for too much money to me. But again, the local market might support that price. *shrug*

If you want. You never know, you might get there and the guy has all the paperwork on the motor swap, records of maintaining the ******, has fixed the what ever else is suppose to be wrong with it that I forget now.... and you can talk him down a grand.

He gave pics of numbers on new engine. I will post them when i get home

Hell no! Not for 2200 smacks!

I would offer him 1500 and see if he takes it. Really IMO isnt worth that either. The AC thing could be a big fix like others said and a car may have a newer engine, but car still has a ton of miles on it and god knows how the suspension is and what else that really hasnt been treated or could go any minute.

I mean it may run well and last, but better vehicles out there for the moola.

I could see if it was a Honduh as Toyoda as those go forever with good maintenance.

I foresee many headaches in your future. Do more searching.

The AC thing bothers me. If I was selling a car, and I knew it just needed a quick recharge to be able to say 'AC blows ice cold' instead of 'AC needs fixed', I recharge it before selling it. But if I knew a previous motor swap had created some headache problem getting the AC to work, and I didnt want to tackle it, Id say 'AC just needs recharged' in the ad. You know, if I was dishonest.
