I'm looking to get a 12" L7, but this kid at school is looking to get 2 12's....I mentioned I had two Infinity 1242w's w/box I was looking to get rid of...and he said he had a 15" Type R in a 3 cu ft ported box.....

We talked about doing a straight up trade.....is that a good deal?

I'm not sure......but even so....isn't a used 15" Type-R worth like $150 alone? I can always build another box for it.....

if it's worth it to you, then do it. you have what he wants, he has what you want. if you'll end up happy, why look for money? just my .02

you'll get the better end of the trade if you want a 15.

I would take the 15" type-r over the 2 infinities any day...but since you want L7's, are you going to keep the R or sell it?

15 type r is a nice sub... ask him to let you listen to it in his car and if you like it trade...

seems like a fair trade. not knowing the full box specs really can't consider how much value the box adds

I would go for the trade, then just build yourself a new box, regardless of what he "says" the enclosures' specs are. That way, you will know for sure.
