Should I use 2 RCA cables or 1 and a splitter?

From the head unit to a 4 channel amp, would the sound quality be reduced if I used a splitter and 1 set of rca cables rather than 2 sets of cables?

My head unit has 2 sets of rca outputs, and will be using the amp to power my rear speakers and a sub.

thanks!

Ok, but I'll have to use a "front" output then. Should I connect that to the sub and the "rear" to my rear speakers?

And just for curiosity sake, would using a splitter cause any performance loss?

thanks a lot for the fast reply =)

There won't be any performance loss splitting the signal. And if the HU only has front & rear I'd probably do that, since using the fronts for either subs or rear channels won't have any benifit.

Curious though - why amp the rear speakers and not the fronts?

me too...If there is LP filtering available, most Hu and amps utilize this on the rear channels
