right now i have the Pioneer DEH-7800MP. it's a pretty nice unit with some good features and stuff, i like how it sounds but i want more. i want something with a L/R EQ built in primarily. i'm not completely sure what burr-brown is but i hear it can make a good difference, the 880 also has it as well. i also might want to go active eventually and i hear this unit has plenty of options for that if the time comes.

i would consider the Alpine 9887 but i already have the Ipod setup and the PAC steering wheel setup that will both work with the 880. and the wiring harness is probably the same plug as well so it would be a real easy swap(not that the plug being the same or not is a big deal). i also know if i got the 9887 i'd have to buy the Imprint module which makes it get real expensive.

just thinking i'd upgrade and then sell off my current deck on here or ebay or something.

any thoughts?

Do it and run the RSd's active //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm also thinking about upgrading... I have an old school Eclipse right now.

yea eventually i would. but i'd need to buy another small amp for the tweeters and figure out a place to mount it. but i'm really thinkin about pulling the trigger and gettin the 880. other than the noise issue(which seems to be caused by user error anyway) it seems like a great unit at a great price.

yeah, dont even think about the 9887. those HUs are so dull compared to the 7800/880prs, in terms of features.

the only thing alpine HUs got over Pioneer is the fact that they support IPHONES.

I have the 880 and I love it. I don't know what feature it could offer that it currently doesn't that I would actually use.
sweet! thats what i wanted to hear.

is 300 shipped used a good price for one? i can get a brand new one on ebay for like $3 more.

cool. i read that the Pioneer has more useful features. thanks

I paid more for mine, but it was brand new from an authorized dealer. Do a search in the classifieds to get a good idea of what the going used rate is.
you can't buy them authorized online, right? has to be through a local dealer or something?

i'm not to worried about warranties. i'm actually against paying more just for a warranty. if i can get one brand new in the box that works i'm sure it'll keep working for a while.
