Should i Upgrade from cda 9887 to a pioneer deh 80?

it has been 5 years since the 9887 was engineered...look at the way phones and hand helds have gone in that time...engineers can shrink down alot more stuff and make it alot more efficient in just 18 months.....

This. We should have head units more powerful than phones, not the other way around.

The new model seems similar to the 980bt that I put in the scion. The menu access in the 980bt is retarded. But the Pioneer has much better features. I need to look into the 3-way crossover capabilities b4 I change. I like Alpine in general, it would be hard to change. All of the other options are for compressed music, something I avoid,

well it does have dual usb...i use one for my phone charging(1amp) and the other for my flash drive...the bluetooth is nice for calls and streaming because it doesnt require me to carry my ipod or mp3 player with me if i forget them i can just use the phone.....i kno this feature is on alot of other decks but its still nice to have

as for sound quality i cant be sure yet...not gonna make a decision on the SQ till i have used it for a week or 2

well let me know what you think about the sq, cuz im an sq guy, the 16 band graphic eq seems pretty nice to have, even though parametric is better.

does anyone find that the 80-prs seems to be lacking the depth on the highs, it has clarity yes, but that smooth warm sound doesnt seem to exist that i had with my 9887, unless im not doing something right, i havent changed my setup at all and ive sat in my car for a long time trying to get it to sound warm but i just cant seem to get it to.
