Should I set my sites lower

I have always wanted to have a system that was somewhere around 1000 or 1200 watts. But I didnt want to buy a new ALT. I was just going to do big 3. My ALT is 80 amps. Should I start thinking about less watts in my system, like somewhere around 800.

You can put a 1kW system on an 80amp alternator...just make sure to run properly-sized wiring to reduce voltage drop, and upgrade the grounds.
