Should I refund the money first?

Well, I sold an HU on ebay, and the buyer said the cd player part doesnt work. So, I just told them to return the HU and I would refund them. But they just emailed me saying once I refund the money they will ship it back. They have been in contact since they won the item. So should I refund the money first, or just tell them to ship the HU back first?

do you think it worked before you sent it? Do you have the serial number of the one that sold? When I sell electronics, I keep serial numbers, and place inconspicuous initials somewhere on the inside (lots of circuit boards are initialed by the builder at the factory, so it looks normal)

Sorry, but I just dont trust people for this very reason. I would not refund til it is in my hands.

Well, it was on my friends display wall at his audio shop before I sold it, and he said it was working fine. If they ship it back first, I am going to get it tested, then go from there.

always take note of serial numbers before you ship just in case
