should I install a cap or not?

so I got the deal thingie on another w7 with an amp and the guy also included a streetwires 1 farad digi cap. so far my system has 2 1000/1 amps and a 300/4. my electrical system is pretty much stock with a marine battery. Will it help anything? hurt it? or am I wasting my time.
