Should I go with this setup Type X over JL's

if you only have 1000 watts get a single 12.

if you have atleast 1800~ watts get the two 10"s or the 12"s if you have room

I'm pretty sure if you just went with 2 10W3V2's in a ported box off a 1000/1 you would be pretty happy with that. But we don't know what your expectations are. If you just want really loud, there are better options, or if you want mainly sound quality, there are better options. I hear 2 15W3V2s sealed in a tahoe off a 500/1 and was very impressed, and he didn't even have it turned up all the way.

I had an alpine amp that did 600rm and i had it powering a 10'' type X last year and that shit pounded I couldnt imagine it at 1000rms

but then I picked up memphis 1100rms and hooked it up to a 900rms d9 sub and it wasnt much difference

thats why i figured 1000rms going into one sub wouldnt be noticable as 500rms well maybe a little but not a huge diff but if i get two 10s 500rms into each one

bah i dunno I guess ill go with the 12 over the 10

There is a video on this site of a guy with a single ported 10" sub with 750 watts on it, in a honda civic and it's flexing the car like crazy for 1 10".

i still say single 12" type x > 2 10" w3v2

if i was where you are, i'd put a 12"x on the 1000/1 out of the choices given.

or go pick up the 1501d in the for sale ads and mod it to 1 ohm and get 2 12" type x's.

I am in the process of having a ported box built for my two 10w3v2s that, up until now, have sucked royally in two different sealed enclosures AND two different vehicles! If they don't perform to my satisfaction in a ported enclosure, you are going to see what tannerite does to a 10w3v2 on a high speed camera as well as what a .50 BMG does to one. IMHO, the 10w3v2 is just an overhyped POS sub with regards to a "small sealed enclosure":verymad:

get a single 12. my buddies barely moved off 650rms.

he scored a 138.6 on the tl with a single type x off about 900 rms.

I just got a 10W3V2 in a custom ported box about an hour ago from some chic at work, and she even threw in a free lanzar vibe (POS) amp, all for $50. So I'm going to go home and see what impedance the sub is. If it turns out to where I can safely hook it up to my nine.1 I'm going to hear firsthand what just 1 of them can do... if I can't use it, then I'll just sell all that stuff for profit, since it was only $50, I could proably sell the amp alone for that much on craigslist.

i have a 10w3v1 at home and zero desire to hook it up. it sits on a shelf.

but i have another type x 12 still sitting in it's box and a 9512 sledgehammer chillin in my room.

Are you stuck on these 2 particular types of woofers? There is better out there for 500 bucks on this site.
