Should I get Vista for $12?

Is it? I just checked microsoft.com quick brfore I posted that, and it said mid-April so...

we've covered this, but I'll repeat myself. I just glanced at the windows website quickly before posting that. The site gave a mid-april release date. I didn't read anymore after I saw that, and I haven't been on my parents' Vista PC in a couple weeks to check for updates.

On a side note, does anyone know if SP3 for XP is out yet? I'm off to check out microsoft's website, but they obviously don't update it often enough, so chime in if you know.

Yes SP3 is out for XP. It has been for about 3 months.

Edit. SP3 appears to only be a time-limited release candidate. Full version doesn't appear to be out yet.

I have vista and haven't had a problem with it yet, I like it alot better then xp.

I'm not a big fan of vista personally, however for 12 bucks I'd pick it up just on principle.

I got Vista for free from my school. I tried it, and I honestly didn't have any problems. The biggest thing I didn't like about it is the eye candy. It might be cool for some people, but it just seems too much for me to enjoy. I had no problems what-so ever with setting anything up on it, it all seemed to work fine.
