im sorry,,, but i really dont know what uy mean at all by "rigity".. like would i notice a difference in sound if i dont have one? Would it hurt the sub if i dont have one? cause i was thinking of just screwing it right in to the .75 mdf wood... or is that just not good to do

It will make the box stronger, the panels won't vibrate or flex as much. Yes, it will decrease box resonance.

If you don't want to do it, it won't damage the sub.

ok well im not to worried about box flex... as long at it wont change the sound/hurt the sub .. so it doesnt really seem neccessary

I read that as, "I'm lazy, and don't want to go to the extra work to do things the right way unless I absolutely have to."

lol, well i mean... what i said is true though right? its not like im gonna be feeling up the box or anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. i just want the sub to sound good and im not worried if the box is suffering a little, itll hold... as long as its still doing its job and making the sub sound good thats the bottom line, but ill talk to the builder and see what he can do. thx

ooo, so ur saying i could risk damaging it??... cause i know my icon 12 just blew in like 4 days.. but i dont think that could have been why

a bad box won't blow a sub, it'll just sound like poop . But your baffle could bend all the screws out and make the sub get loose. then you could have some serious problems

so ur saying that putting a sub in with 4 screws in .75 mdf without bracing instead of 8 screws is not a good idea eh. ill keep that in mind next time. i never would have thought that a sub could come loose.. as long as there were a few screws in there via a screwdriver automatic thing(cant think right now of what its called again)
