should i get 2 12's or 2 10's?

right now i have a 12 inch rockford p3 in a sealed box. i mainly listen to rock with a lot of double bass but i love listening to rap because the bass gets so loud. my sub right now works out fine for both of those. and its fine in terms of keeping up w the double bass at least to my ears. but i obviously want more bass.

what i was wondering is should i buy another 12 or sell my 12 and get 2 10's? i'm worried that if i get another twelve the two subs wont be able to keep up w/ the double bass as well and that it'll just sound bad.

Larger displacement will = louder. In terms of how fast the sub hits has more to do with the engineering rather than the size.

It depends on your budget. Typically, two 10" subs will be more expensive than one good 12" sub. I'd say to just get one quality 12" sub.

I have a 10" IDMAX I listen to sometimes that provides all the output and bass extension I really need.

12 inch is a versatile size in my opinion. It all boils down on the box design. kovemaster559 is correct, you may want to build a good ported box to get louder and still keep that double bass.

you could just build a ported box for the sub you have now. Double the power going to your single sub. Or upgrade your 12" to something with mroe SQ and output potential, and sell the 12" you have now.

How much power do you have available in Rms at what ohm load.
