$175's a really good deal. I'd probably just pay them if do-it-yourselfing isn't a priority.
Still, IMO tinting windows is fun, but it depends on how good you are at it.. at first it's a pain. Just make sure you're good at cutting stuff with a razor, and you clean the window VERY well.
Also, I've used two different store rolls of tint in the past.. Gila and AutoExpressions.. I HIGHLY suggest the auto expressions "BEst" grade film.

1 roll per side, and 1 roll for the back window and you're good. This film goes on 1000% easier than the Gila film I've used in the past, and I only got ONE figer come up after tinting 4 windows on a buddy's car, compared to like 5 per window with Gila film.
Make sure you get a good squeegee, too. I've used a plastic one that's like a really thick credit card, and it worked OK, but My favorite one was a meaty rubber one about 3" long. I dunno who makes it, but it was by the tint at Wal-Mart for me.
HAve a good shard razor, too.
