Should I buy this sub?

It's a 12" JL w7. It has about an inch long tear in the surround that has been filled and sealed. I can get it for a really decent price considering what it is..

I'm about the get an Audioque 1200D that puts out 1400ish at 14.4volts.

Would I be happy about this and is there anything I should be concerned about when buying it? I'd like some help hear because I've been ripped off more than enough times and don't want to buy a sub that is about to blow.

It's not in a box but they are happy to have me test it. Any opinions or comments?

I would think the tear would spread rather easily and quickly on somethign with that much excursion... I wouldn't buy it but that again I hate JL so... May be if it is like $50

can you get it repaired or replaced cheaply?

Personally I wouldnt buy a sub with any tear in it. I would pass it up.

hmm is it a huge tear that affects proformance. I heard JL recones are expensive

they said it doesn't affect performance and it is just a 1 inch long scratch that went through but I will check it out today or tomorrow

To tell you the truth I have no idea. Just check it out and go off that, just be warned the Recones are a bish, and you may or may not have to have JL actually recone it, Im not sure if they even sell recone kits. I remember someone posted a horror story before, but if it works and you like it buy it man.
