stupid should hurt.
so a friend who works at a shop gave me a call today, his shop was having a tent sale. i found this sub "eclipse sw8000" for only $100, retail is like $350, and its on sonicelectronis for like $215(out of stock). its a pretty beefy sub, single 4, 900 rms, i called up eclipse when i got home they said its a SQ sub and should only be put in a sealed box at 1.75cf. ive been looking for a sub for a HT setup, but im only looking to run 250rms. the guys at the shop mentioned a downfire design would sound pretty sweet.

i used the search to find that they are a tc9+ variant motor design with heat displacement fins, and a LMS coil, and a removable top (you can remove the soft parts and basket without destroying the sub).

might go up tomorrow and take a sealed box i have, only 1.25cf, cause they didnt have any on display.

That thread is 5 months old. And those aren't the TC kinds, they look more like a diamond audio sub or some shit. There is a TC based one for sale on here though.

edit: well, I guess they were debating it in the thread, but I didn't think they had more than one TC9 variant... but I could be wrong.

Go buy it.

None of the people in here have any idea what is going on, much less what the sub is, or how to put it in a HT...

Get it, put it in 3 cubes and see how it sounds. It should do fine. We arent talking spl, HT use is very differnt... Throw the box in the corner, and it will sound good. dont be afraid to us a bigger box either, it wont hurt the sub, as long as you dont bottom it out.

You sound retarded^ How is he going to bottom out a 650rms sub with 250 watts, in a sealed box? Stick to burritos chupo.
Look at the Cms number. In a large enough enclosure at the right frequencies 250 is most certainly enough to bottom the driver. In addition, this is indeed a TC design. It's a TC-9 with a shorting ring and an LMS coil with a wind height of approximately 60mm.

OP, 1.25cu.ft. is too small for that driver. As el_chupo_ said, give it about 3 to 3.5 and it will sound wonderful.
