should i build a tuned ported subwoofer box? is it worth it?

i have a cvt kicker 12" slim sub... its in a ported box? or box with a long rectangle hole in it thats estimated about 1.5 - 2 cubic foot.. it sounds decent right now and i have had this set up for quite some time now.. i was thinking if i made a tuned box would there be much big difference? and is it worth the time building a tuned box for more bass?

Put 2 different ports in it. Tune one of them to 1hz and the other to 80hz. This will let you pick up all the subbass frequencies. The sound quality guys have been doing it for years, and the SPL guys are starting to come around to it as well.

I thought funky pups were the only sub that it was optimal to tune at 1hz

.... so was he being serious or not?...

i have no idea what its tuned to.. i bought it from futureshop.. ill try to get some measurments when i have some spare time.. only if someone is actualy serious about helpin me out with a tuned box -.-
