setting up line drivers

Okay I am wondering how to setup a line driver the right way? Is there a write-up on this somewhere on how to do it correctly?

same way you set up gains - with test tones and a DMM

except you have a three step process now where you determine the maximum non-clipped and low distortion output of the HU, then use the line driver to increase that signal to an acceptable range for the amplifier. you must understand the relationship of gain structure so you know that you aren't amplifying noise or distortion.

okay well I was wondering if each rca was different.Like one be 4 volts and other be 4 volts together equal 8 from the line driver.Is that right?

you haven't told us what model line driver you have - each one is different.
