OK.ok fine, $150-250. work in that range and give me options.
What's the problem with that?but that means that the speaks are getting receiver power.
So you're either going to have to learn or go the HTIB route like I mentioned before.i don't know how to do the speakers and i'm not building any enclosures.
Ebay, or specialty sites like Audiogon. You sure aren't getting anything new for that price.so i gotta get all my shit off ebay?
Most 5.1 channel receivers will be between 40 and 100W, which is plenty.how many watts for speakers?
Build them. Think sub enclosures, only much smaller.and what do i do about the enclosure for speakers?
Parts Express has probably the best lineup.1) What are some good plate amps?
There are Y-adapters to split a single LFE connection to two RCA jacks. My HTIB reciever only has one output for sub whereas most plate amps I see have a configuration more similar to car audio (R and L)
Using an undersized bench power supply to run 12VDC amplifiers for home use is ghettofied at best...laughable and dangerous at worst. Maybe for temporary testing, OK...but for a real setup, it pays to do it right. Why is plate amp reccomended over the power supply? because it does both? What if he already had an amp lying around? (or two?)
Which is a plate amp or a rack amp ( I think that is what it is called, like the Beringer)Using an undersized bench power supply to run 12VDC amplifiers for home use is ghettofied at best...laughable and dangerous at worst. Maybe for temporary testing, OK...but for a real setup, it pays to do it right.
