Hey guys,

I got my new Alpine 12" Type-Rs, 2 of them, in a sealed box, hooked up to my Hifonics BX1000D and I need some assistance setting up my levels.

My head unit has a 2.5v pre-out

I have my head-unit sub-woofer output set at +2

The subwoofer level is set at about halfway, the nob just has 9v-.2v

The Bass EQ on the sub is set at about half way, I'm not exactly sure what that is, is it bass bost?

Then there is the phase control, I left that at 0

There is also a Bass remote control for the sub that I have mounted up front.

I have read some tutorials on setting gain levels with a volt meter, but I don't have one, and I'm not sure I could figure out what voltage needed to go to my amps.

if you guys have any advice it'd be great, thanks

So if I set my head unit at +6 which is the max, you were right, I will have 2.5 volts coming out of the pre-amp. 2.5 was the voltage listed in my manual I think.

Ok, well I will borrow one a multimeter, do you recomend and tutorials or do you know how I can figure out what voltage I need.

Thanks.

That's nothing but an annoyingly common phrase to try to sound smart. Don't say "gain is not a volume knob" until you can explain how it differs...
