Setting Sub Amp Gain with DMM not Reaching 41 AC Volts?

I am trying to set my sub amp gain. I have a Quantum Audio 1000 watt amp and a Kicker CVR 12 inch 800 watt, 400 RMS sub. I am trying to reach around 41 AC volts. The highest I am able to get is 36.3 AC volts with the gain maxed out. How to I make it so I can reach the around 41 AC volts?

turn the subwoofer control on the HU all the way up and then reset the gain.with my alpine i had to have it at 15 out of 15, if i did not want my gain to be at 3/4th

I already told you why you won't EVER get the voltage output you are seeking *HERE* and via PM.

Your first problem is that your 1,000 watt amp is class AB and only has 60 amps worth of fusing. Your next problem is that your factory speakers start to distort between 1/4 and 1/2 volume on your HU, therefore you have to set your Quantum to hit max output at a low volume level with a 2 volt pre-amp output HU.

ETA: Your maximum usable 2 ohm power from that amp will be 36 volts or less. In other words, you are trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip!

that's a problem. Pretty hard to bridge a mono amp.

You can't use fuse size to predict actual power any closer than a ballpark estimate, but in general, gunz is right. That amp won't sniff 1000w.

I'd set it for about 35v and hope it doesn't clip.
