setting higher watt amps to lower watt speakers

I have a four channel amp putting out 40 watts each channel that I want to bridge to 100 watts on two channels and a 2 channel 110 watt amp. As of now I was thinking about putting the 110 on my fronts rated for 100 watts and the 100 watts on my two rear speakers rated at 60 watts. I know a lot of people do this successfully, but is that achieved with a voltmeter. Any tips appreciated.

Just set the gains a little low, and you will be fine. You'll definitely want more power in your front speakers.

A dmm would definately help you out to achieve 60watts for your rear speakers.

I haven't read up on it but setting it with a dmm seems hard at first glance but i'll see where the road takes me
