setting gain

so when i go to set my gain with a multimeter what do i want to set my settings on the headunit at? ex. subwoofer lever, bass level, bass center freq., and the hpf?

Set everything to flat on hu, eq's. Unless you plan on using a little bass boost, set that before you set the gain for your sub. Best if it's all set to flat so you get a good clean response.
