Setting Gain...

I recently set my amp gain preparing for my comming system. I started my car, hooked up my multi-meter, turned it on, turn my radio on, volume at 45 outta 62, and played 30 hz tones, and up to 50 hz. My problem is that I have to have the gains all the way up to get the 45 volts output. (2000 watts @ 1 ohm). Until I get my new HU, what do I do about my low volt inputs and having gain all the way up? I dont want to send a clipped signal to my subs.

Yes I read the tutorial, I did not use sweeps, I used a 30 hz tone, a 40 hz tone, and a 50 hz tone, to check my subsonic and low pass filters...

Amp is 1000 RMS @ 1, supposably 2000 MAX.

Turning up the volume higher then that is distortion out of the my HU. Clipping from the beggining is even worse!

Where the heck am I gonna have access to an oscope?

You set the voltage for the RMS rating..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Peak ratings are absolutely usless ignor them at all times.

Try for 32 volts, @ 1ohm that equals 1024watts.

Anywayz, I went out and adjusted it. Before (I just realized) I had the Bass EQ set high, and my gain all the way up, so I turned the bass EQ all the way down to 0dB, that brought the output down to 32 volts even. But the gain is still all the way up. Any suggestions? Do u think there will be a clipped signal? or do u think it will be fine?
