setting gain w/ sub and amp, OHM's ?

I have a 15" L7 solobaric and a kicker KX1200.1 amp, I was wondering if anyone could help me on gain and bass boost setting's? What should I set them on? I was also wondering should I have the sub wired for 2, 4 or 8 OHM's, and whats the difference between setting them at different OHM's?

what ohms is the sub? single 4 ohm, dual 4 or dual 2? thats will decide your wiring options

Need to know the coil config as well as how much power you want to put on the sub to help you.

As for setting your gains: SQRT(watts x impedance) Set your DMM to Volts (AC), disconnect the sub, and place the leads on the terminals.

Turn gain knob until you reach xx volts (xx from the above equation)

Its a dual voice coil sub(1000/2000 watts rms/peak), 2 or 4 OHM's i guess depending how I wire it to the amp! And I got info. about the amp and it says its 600x1 watts at 2 OHM's? I just want to know what would give me the best bass with sound?

we need to know what ohms the sub is? you still didn't specify whether it is dual 4 or dual 2. it matters quite a bit.

The L7 is either dual 2, or dual 4.

Got the model # on the amp ?
