Setting gain on amp while using factory h/u?

Wondering if uping the gains(more then half) on a amp is less harmful if using a loc. Iirc the locs dont send alot of voltage thus turning the gain up to compensate..f idk...This is my first system using a oem h/u/loc so dont bust my balls bitc hes.

but more gain is power power draw, harder on the amp and more heat.... so your idea is fail

your gain should be matched to the voltage of the preout on the loc
