separate ground for caps?

some of the guys at best buy dont know what they're talkin about, but i think some of them do...i was told that when you hook a capacitor up it needs its own separate ground wire- can somebody verify this with possibly and explanation why? i cant think of why-

A capacitor is just like a small car battery, except that it charges and discharges faster than a normal battery. You hook up continuous 12 power to it straight from the battery. You connect 12 power to the + terminal on the cap, then you just put another connector on the + terminal and then take that straight to your amps. Then the - terminal gets its own ground wire that connects to ground on the same spot on the chassis as your amps ground wire. The capacitor is just inline with the amps main power wire.

ok- i think i misunderstood the guy at best buy, i thought he was saying you needed to ground the capacitor in an entirley different spot and all...definetly thanks for the clarification appreciate it
