Security System Upgrade

Right now I have stock car alarm. IT sucks!! Im bacisly almost done with my build and should start thinking of security.

What should be the first or best upgrade i can do for my car.

I can spend around 200 more if needed. What seems to work best?

or buy the viper 791 for $10 cheaper. i got mine from here http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=10596 but a battery back up and extra sirens. i think i have $450 into my alarm, 178 for that battery backup, extra lcd remote, 2 mini piezos, mercury switch. i am gonna get the window kit too.

huh if you add all the right feautures i'm pretty sure an alarm will serve you right. If you think that alrms aren't for you you can always get a watch dog a let him live in your car, or stand at your window with a .22 ready to fire!!!

then why did you start this thread when you know we would all tell you to get an alarm? installs are from like 8-10 depending on what system the car, if you have to use resistors,diodes, 5 wire doors, relays. gotta make sure they are hidden. the hornet 564t 2 way alarm/rs i did the other day when you look under the day you dont see anything but the shock sensor because it was a good spot to mount it, and if you look up you just barely see the extra siren.

I was just quoting the big CAR ALARMS DO NOTHING! banner on the main page. of course done right it can prevent. Im just getting more ideas too see whats better for me.

Besides alarm the only idea i have is a watch dog and a .22.

so you want a lawsuit if someone breaks into your car and the dog gets them or you shoot them. stick with the alarm and get insurance on the system.
