Second battery draining first?

maybe the 4ga wire between the batteries doesnt allow for enough power to get to the back fast enough to keep it from pulling off the battery reserve. i personally would recommend 1/0 to connect the batteries.

900w was dimming with the front battery and big 3?

yea, hard core dimming before.

Even with the second battery there is still a little flicker on the bass hits, very minimal though.

My friend has a Hyundai and a 350z and with yellow tops and 2ga wire and has same problem.

I dont even know if i can fit 1/0 under my door frame panel :|

So this is that Werker battery you got just yesterday? I thought it was working good for you? Seems like the output is diminishing, which would indicate that your alt is not keeping up. You should start the engine without any audio and let the batteries charge back up for about 30-45 mins. Just let the car idle or drive it around with the music off. Either way that should recharge them back up. Now the issue you are having with them possibly draining overnight is due to the different battery in the front. You still had the stock battery up there IIRC. The stock flooded battery could drain the rear battery over time, but I would think it would take longer than overnight. I would assume it would take at least a few days time.

Well the battery works fine in the back dimming wise etc. I just noticed that when i was playing heavy bass and then turning music off and turning car off at same time and going to bed, when id come back the battery in front would be a little low..

So maybe i need to turn music off a few blocks from home and let it charge a bit..

Also the whole reason for me getting the second battery was for dimming.

Alright we can put this to REST..

Figured it out..

My Alternator at idle does not give enough power to keep up with the amps demands so i shouldnt bump full tilt while parked, as long as im driving they are fine, drove around the block 4-5 times at listening volume, going maybe 20mph and when i got back i immediately checked the voltage. back registers 12.8 and front registers 12.8.. So there you have it.

Thanks for the help guys.

The reason why your car has a hard time starting in the morning is that you don't have your battery's isolated. When battery's are conected together when they're not being charged, whichever battery has a higher voltage(no 2 battery's have the exact same voltage) trys to charge the other battery until that battery has a higher voltage. Then it goes back and forth slowly draining both batts until you turn the car on and the alternator starts to charge both batts. If you didn't start your car for a couple days both batts would probably be dead. The way to fix this is to isolate the batts using a 200 amp relays so both batts are connected when the car is on but when its off both batterys are isolated from each other. I'm really surprised no one else knew this...

we went over that. but that is not always the case. i have had my g34 Exide orbital (front) directly connected to my YT g31 (back) for ~1yr and i haven't had any problems with starting my car.

actually, because of this thread.... i went home yesterday and parked my car. came back out after about an hour. whipped out the DMM and started poking around. i got 12.51v @ both amps, the rear battery and the front battery.

The issue you are having with limited battery capacity is due to the fact you went cheap and bought too small of a battery. You should be able to beat at idle without any issues. It would take me over 3 hours to drain my HC1400 to the point your batteries were at before recharging them. In fact, I have played my music with the engine off for over 3 hours on one HC1400 at 3/4 volume while cleaning the garage, shooting hoops, etc and never had an issue starting the car.

You guys can say what you want about Kinetik being more expensive and all, but the additional runtime you get is well worth the extra $$ to me.

i've also ran mine for hours with the car OFF. not up, but about half-way. car started right up. just like always... but i have big batteries and 1/0 wire connecting them.

If you never listen to music with the car off then an isolater will do absolutely NOTHING for you.
That is simply false. The isolator will disconnect the two dissimilar batteries while the vehicle is not in use. This will prevent the batteries draining each other.

isn't this what the thread is about? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
