Sealed vs ported in a boat

Im doing to dual 10" subwoofer install in my boat and would like some input on going sealed or ported. I plan on doing two Sundown SA10's, one under each back seat and a Hifonics BRX20001D amp. Im pretty limited on space under the seats. I would be ok sealed but I would only have about 1.15ft3 not including the port for a ported box. Im also not sure how a ported box would sound in the open environment of a boat. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

^^Really? I would have figured you want all the output you can get on a boat, ported would be the only way.

I currently have a 12" alpine type r sealed and it sounds good but i'd rather go ported with the sa10's. just not sure if 1.15 cu ft is gonna be enough for em, and ive never heard a ported enclosure in a boat before.

all of the boat sub enclosures i've done have been ported or IB, sealed didn't do enough.

i'd like to try a horn loaded sub/mid enclosure in a boat someday.

just an fyi, sharks have a remarkable sensitivity to vibrations in the water. They can hear sounds from thousands of feet away. Sharks can tell the direction from where the sound is coming from, too. just a little bit of random facts.

too much vibrations also hurt them from what i learned in shark week lol

I live in WI so i dont have to worry about sharks lol. Ill build some ported boxes thanks for input

why not do 2 ported SA 8s same power but will more than likly be louder than the 2 10s sealed

It's no gift, but in an open environment like that I would think every little bit you can get would help.
